GOAT Fighters of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu

Legendary fighter Roger Gomes Gracie was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on September 26, 1981. His father was Mauricio Gomes, a jiu-jitsu black belt under Rolls Gracie and a well-known fighter in the 1970s known as Mauriço, and his mother was Reila Gracie, a daughter of Carlos Gracie, who, as one of the Gracie brothers, was  BJJ  royalty. As would be expected with such a lineage, Gracie began his training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at an early age. Now a former professional jiu-jitsu competitor and a retired mixed  martial artist , Roger Gracie has been recognized as one of the greatest athletes in the history of the sport.  As a black belt, Gracie won a whopping ten titles while competing in the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) World Championships.   The rematch between American fighter Devin Haney, ESPN’s top fighter under 25 to watch, and Australian boxer George Kombosos Jr, will take place in the latter’s home country this Sunday. The two will fight their second consecutive fight on the 16th of October at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne. One such matchup was Jarvis vs. Paro, which was slated to be an exciting match between two Aussie locals. However, it ended up being much shorter than anticipated.
